Conference Goals

The MMV conference provides a forum for research presentations and the exchange of information and experience of managerial policies, problems, practices and solutions regarding issues related to the monitoring and management of visitor flows in recreational and protected areas. Special interest is focused on the management of international nature tourists.

Conference Topics

The overall purpose of the conference is to provide an opportunity for constructive discussions on managerial policies, problems and solutions as they relate to monitoring and management of nature tourists and visitor flows in recreational and protected areas. The main focus is related to:

Visitor monitoring methods
Experiences of national, regional and on-site visitor inventories
Visitor flow modeling and data management
Visitor/User conflicts and other behavior studies
Visitor information and visitor management
Sustainability and carrying capacity studies in recreational settings
Issues of management of international tourists
Management politics and methods
Nature tourism policies in recreational and protected areas
Economic and social impacts of recreation and nature tourism
